Privacy Policy
Larder & Lore is published by Technically Retired LLC. This policy describes exactly what the app does with your information. It is short because the app does very little.
The short version
Your recipes and pantry data are stored in your own iCloud account. We operate no server that holds your library, and there is no account with us to create or close. Nothing is transmitted to us, ever. The few cases where content leaves your device are described below, and every one of them is something you start.
What we store about you
Nothing. Technically Retired LLC operates no user database and holds no copy of your recipes, your pantry, your name, or your email address unless you write to us yourself.
Your library
Recipes, pantry contents, notes and settings are saved on your device and synced through Apple's iCloud service using your own Apple Account. This data is governed by Apple's iCloud terms and Apple's privacy policy. We have no access to it and no ability to retrieve it, which also means we cannot recover it for you if you delete it.
When information leaves your device
1. Importing a recipe from a link
When you ask the app to import a recipe from a web address, the app fetches that page directly from the site you named, in order to read the recipe from it. The site you are importing from will see that request in the same way it would see any visitor, which may include your IP address. We do not receive or log these requests.
2. Features that read or interpret content
Where your device supports Apple Intelligence, the app uses it. That work happens on your device, or — where Apple routes a request to its Private Cloud Compute — on Apple's own infrastructure under Apple's privacy terms. Either way the content does not pass through any server we operate, and we do not receive it.
Where you hand content to another app through the iOS share sheet, that is a handoff you initiate to an app you have chosen yourself. What that app does with the content is governed by its own privacy policy rather than this one.
Larder & Lore does not hold an account with any artificial intelligence provider and does not send your content to one on its own initiative. There is no API key inside the app and no provider receiving your recipes on our behalf.
Purchases
In-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple. Payment details never pass through the app and are never visible to us. We receive only the aggregate sales reporting Apple provides to every developer, which does not identify individual customers.
Diagnostics
The app collects no analytics and includes no advertising or tracking software. There is no third-party analytics kit embedded in it.
Where the app offers to send diagnostic information along with feedback, that is opt-in and initiated by you: nothing is transmitted unless you choose to send it, and you can see what is being sent before it goes. Diagnostic reports are used to fix the problem you reported and for nothing else.
What we never do
- We do not sell your information, and we never will.
- We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers or analytics companies.
- We do not build a profile of you or track you across other apps and websites.
- We do not read your recipes. We could not if we wanted to.
Your data, and deleting it
Because your library lives in your own iCloud account, you already hold it and control it directly. To delete the synced copy, open Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage, select Larder & Lore and delete its data. Deleting the app alone removes only the copy on that device.
If you have written to support and would like that correspondence deleted, ask and it will be.
Children
Larder & Lore is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Since the app collects no personal information from anyone, this is a statement of design rather than a promise about policing.
Changes to this policy
If the app's handling of information changes, this page changes with it and the effective date above is updated. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes rather than quietly slipped in here.
